WINNERS FOR THE DOWNLOAD MUSIC AWARDS 2009 ANNOUNCED DURING BRITISH MUSIC WEEK 2009
Winners of the 1st annual Download Music Awards were announced yesterday at the launchin London at the Wandsworth Palias. Over 250,000 music fans went on the official British Music Week website (www.britishmusicweek.com ) to cast their votes for the new annual pop music show for the download generation. Big winners on the night were the Saturdays, who won Best Newcomer and Best Female Act beating off competition from Pixxie Lott, Sugababes,and Agnes.
Other big winners on the night were the Arctic Monkeys who won Best Male Act and The Noisettes who won Best Single for their smash hit ‘Never Forget You'
Head of Sponsorship for the Download Music Awards, Jason Rade said “The Download Music Awards is the awards ceremony for music fans worldwide who legally download their music giving artist and bands the support they need to reach a much more global audience than has previously ever been possible and we were extremely happy with the success of the launch and look forward to building a very global credible annual download awards ceremony for music fans worldwide”.

Britsh Airways announced as official Airline for British Music Week 2009. The parternship sees Invincible Group's British Music Week partner with British Airways to create a series of TV commercials to be broadcast throughout the USA and Asia. RISING STAR 2009 Semi- Finalist announced
The British Music Week 2009 team have recieved over 10,000 entries for this year's Rising Star 2009 award which will be presented to one winner at the last showcase for British Music Week on the 7th of October 2009 at 93 Feet East, London.
The 50 semi-finalists have been invited to the Download Music Awards at the Wandsworth Palais on the 3rd of October 2009 where 10 finalists will be announced. Our A& R team are currently reviewing all 50 semi-finalists to pick 10 finalists.
