LINKIN PARK ANNOUNCE COMEBACK ALBUM...
Co-frontman Mike Shinoda said: "People just want junk food. They want throw-away junk food music that's going to make them lethargic and fat. McDonalds is great once in a while, in moderation. Eat it every day and you just turn into a slob.

"We feel the same way about music. We want to hopefully move even more into being able to make more substantial music.

"I would love for this record to be something that has its own identity, and can't easily be connected to anything else. This album will be the kind of food that's foreign to you, that you haven't had before, and when you first taste it, you'll go, 'This doesn't taste like anything else I've had, but I think I like it.' THE GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES NEW DEPARTMENT WHICH WILL SEE SOME BENEFIT TO THE MUSIC BUSINESS!!

Government’s new Department for Business, Innovation & Skills - created by merging BERR and DIUS has now been launched

Lord Mandelson with six other ministers, including David Lammy, Pat McFadden and Kevin Brennan and will have responsibility for copyright issues.

Portfolios of all the ministers have yet to revealed, although it is understood that Lammy, who previously held the Intellectual Property brief has lobbied hard to retain that and looks likely to.

One source says the new set up basically apes the old Department of Trade and Industry with responsibilities for universities. A music industry insider says that DIUS didn’t have a particularly good track record with the industry having led on copyright term, but failing to bring it about during a first reading in Europe. The source adds, "It's a very positive sign that the IP portfolio has gone to Peter Mandelson. He is a politician who clearly understands the economic importance of protecting intellectual property on behalf of the UK economy in a global market."

FORMER- HAPPY MONDAYS GUITARIST, KAV JOINS LINE UP FOR 5TH ANNUAL BRITISH MUSIC WEEK.

Kav is a British artist from Leicester, based in London UK & Los Angeles. Kav launched his solo career in February 2008 with his band, featuring Kavlong-term teenage friend James Portas. Kav has recently been compared to "A Latter-day Jagger" by The Guardian (UK) & on his début EP he has been likened vocally with the likes of Bob Dylan, Shaun Ryder, Bobby Gillespie & Lou Reed. The music has been compared to 'The Stones' Sympathy For The Devil hauled into the digital age by Death In Vegas' (see press summary), plus Black Rebel Motorcycle Club & the harder edge of Led Zeppelin.

Kav writes thought-provoking, meaningful songs, putting his unique & modern stamp on authentic/ pychedelic Rock N' Roll. Kav released his Debut Solo EP 'Blaggers N Liars' in April 2008 on buzz London Imprint "This Feeling Records" with rave reviews from the UK & International press.

Born of a mind that at 28, has already been opened as wide as the Watford Gap and come out fighting (you don't tour with Shaun Ryder and return an innocent), the ‘Blaggers & Liars EP' was the first hint of Kav's adventures this year; with his Follow-up Single 'Rock Chick/ Soul Kid' scheduled for release on 13th October 2008 , and a debut album to follow.
